Jessie Hill - Biography
A former top stylist, Australian designer Jessie Hills career began after moving from Sydney to LA at 17-years-old.
After various stints working with MTV and various rock bands such as No Doubt and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jessies career took her to London and into fashion as head womens wear designer for the cult label Buddhist Punk. Rather than making her mark in her home country first, Jessie took her namesake label to the international arena, unveiling her Spring/Summer 2006 collection at New York Fashion Week.
Feminine, yet erring on the side of darkness and beautifully embellished, the Jessie Hill collections are truly a metaphor for herself; her design always a reflection of her appreciation for film and the visual arts.
Juxtaposing sharply tailored and voluminous garments is something she something she does with great flair. Jessies idea on what constitutes sexy operates on a more intellectually, more conceptual level, but always with an independent rebellious streak.
Now in her third season and firmly established in her home country and overseas, Jessie will unveil her Spring/Summer 2007/08 collection, titled "Broken Windows" at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
